I'm not taking the side of the NFL here for any other reason than being interested in the legal debate but it seems to me that having the word "Houston" prominently displayed on the front of the jerseys UH sells should matter. That's what's missing from other schools with similar jersey colors.

But they are the University of Houston

And I don’t recall the Oilers having Houston on their jerseys

Except that "Houston" is actually the name of the university. You can't trademark Houston.

This guy just lost a lawsuit to Nike for copying Jordans. It doesn't have the nike swoosh and there are subtle differences with the stitching so it's not the same right?
