Yes but that could cause confusion for consumers which he is most likely trying to take advantage of for profit. A little different with UH who isn’t doing to confuse but honor the history in Houston

What this case is similar to, is like a college team selling jerseys in the bookstore… and the players wanting profit off of their likenesses even if it’s not expressly them

Like when Burrow played at LSU… if you bought a #9 jersey it could be for any player that had ever worn #9 (there weren’t any names on the back), but the NIL proponents were arguing that if you bought #9 it must have been for Burrow and he deserved a cut of the purchase price

Anyone confusing the Houston Cougars for an NFL team would be sadly mistaken.

Much like the final years of the Oilers in Houston TBH.
