United Methodist Church votes to allow gay marriage and gay clergy

The church had maintained a ban on clergy members who were “self-avowed practicing homosexuals” since 1984, and later added performing or celebrating same-sex unions to “a list of chargeable offenses that could result in a church trial,” according to a timeline of the church’s history with the LGBTQ community.
But Wednesday’s vote marked a dramatic shift in the United Methodist Church stance on homosexuality.
In a 692-51 vote the church’s legislative body passed several rules without debate, including overturning both its ban on gay clergy and the penalties for holding same-sex marriages, according to the United Methodist News service.

“This morning I cried … because a fight I’ve been in for so long found justice,” Pastor Matt Patrick wrote in a post on X. “We are no longer [saying] that being gay is a sin …and no longer ban LGBTQ from serving as ministers … Praise be to God.”
According to the church’s news service, members cheered, cried and hugged after the vote.

Don’t worry you can still join the new Baptist-like sect of the Methodist church if you’re still hung up on this with Global Methodists

What’s their liturgical purpose of marriage now?

Unfortunately for him God’s thoughts on the matter haven’t changed and are spelled out clearly

Satan is quickly taking over churches

Say what you want about the Catholic Church, but there’s a reason it stays so rigid to it’s old rules.
When you budge on any of these issues, it creates a terribly slippery slope.
That’s why Pope Francis has caught the amount of flack he has.

Haven’t they lost 60% of their churches?
Now, they are getting rich off the buy outs.
And, I guess they are going to need a bible that says homo isn’t sinful to aaccommodate their false belief.

And they wonder why recent attendance has fallen over 34%.

And their pews will empty even more now.

Gay money spends just as well as straight money, which is all some churches are worried about.

You aren’t saying it but Jesus did.

Welp...that should result in the rest of the congregations breaking off

The moron doesn't realize that man does not get to determine what is and is not sin. Man can changes, but God remains the same. If God says it is a sin, then it is a sin. This is the problem with lukewarm religions that try to please people instead of do what is pleasing to God.

I can't fathom attending any 'church' these days all of them are infiltrated with homosexuals.
