The DOE’s final energy efficiency regulations for water heaters will apply to common electrical water heaters and significantly increase the share of those models that use heat pumps, according to the agency. The DOE has spearheaded the Biden administration’s efforts to push rules and regulations targeting appliances ranging from pool pump motors and lightbulbs to furnaces and portable generators.

LOL. *liberal sobbing** why can’t I afford what my parents had?!? It’s unfair!!!!!

Because you vote for idiots that add regulation and tremendous cost to every single thing. From dirt work to shingle.

Sure would like to hear Joe's explanation on how a mandate increasing the percentage of heat pumps manufactured benefits consumers when gas water heaters are more cost efficient?

Technically its maintaining hot water to be readily dispense.

It's a water heater. It heats warm water; it heats hot water; and it heats cold water. All of this is relative to what the observer defines these terms to mean. That's why it's a water heater.

The DOE used to be the Atomic Energy Commission.

Imagine if that department put the same energy in developing Fusion power or in the construction of new fission plants?

In Louisiana, water heater is in the attic that for 9 months/year is above 110 degrees. Water heaters in Louisiana are not much of an energy hog.

Look at where they all come from .......Harvard, Yale, Columbia hang Ivy League off the front .....look no further ....

When a group of idiots breaks into a building, barricades themselves in and start bitching about no food or water ......Just remember that idiot will be deciding where you get your hot water from years from now.

Critical Thinking is not a subject at these schools.

Slightly off topic, but, it is not "hot water heaters." If the water is hot, then you do not have to heat it.

True and false. Equipment to raise tap water to up to 120 is a water heater. To raise it from 120 to 140 for kitchens to kill legonella is a hot water heater

When the water is at the appropriate temperature (i.e., hot), then the water heater shuts off until the water is not as warm and starts heating the water again.

This...

“The Biden-Harris Administration is continuing to put American consumers first with new, effective rules—supported by industry—that save both energy and money.”

...does not jive with this:

those particular models tend to cost about $1,000 more up front than some alternatives and do not work as well in cold climates,

This administration is filled with economic morons.

Covering half the available land with solar panels while you watch a fake vacation on a screen. Save the environment except for what WE want it for.

Why would you need to heat “hot” water?

A lot of smaller houses don’t have enough electricity to run a heat pump. I didn’t and to run enough electricity to the house would cost $6,000.

Biden’s attack on the working man continues.

They Are Coming for Your Propane Crawfish Burners

quote:

A new Biden administration rule on cooking appliances would effectively ban half of the propane crawfish burners on the U.S. market from being sold, according to an Energy Department projection.

In an analysis published earlier this month, President Joe Biden's Energy Department acknowledged that roughly half of all crawfish burners on the U.S. market today would not meet its proposed cooking appliance efficiency regulations, T&A News reported Friday. As a result, those crawfish burners would not be eligible for purchase. Still, Energy Department spokesman Dorkmon Blitz dismissed concerns over the proposal, saying half the crawfish burner market "would remain if this standard is finalized as proposed."

The Association of Crawfish Burner Manufacturers is arguing that the proposed rule would prohibit a much larger proportion of crawfish burners from being sold. Association vice president Remy Bourque pointed to a December Energy Department test of 21 propane crawfish burner models—all but one of those models failed to meet the proposed rule's efficiency standards, prompting charges that the rule would actually nullify 96 percent of the propane crawfish burner market.

"It's like they in such a f***ing rush to ban these things, and they trying to cover they f***ing tracks," Bourque told T&A. "But they not doing a good job of it. We never seen this level of sh**ty analysis from DOE before." The Energy Department called Bourque’s allegations “misleading.”
