I live in south texas which is mostly white and hispanic. Most younger Hispanics (30s and younger) are mostly assimilated into the white american culture it seems to me. There aren’t so many black people around (probably around the national average and in the small towns there might be 20 in the whole town) but I think we seem to have less racial issues than most places.
I’m in my mid 20s so I can’t say how it used to be but growing up everybody’s favorite athletes, musicians, and actors were mostly black. Nobody thought about race and black people were cool. Things definitely started to change during obamas presidency regarding how black people saw whites and to an extent vice versa and it seems like we live in a completely different world.
Most black people are fun and cool and whatever but a lot do seem to really hate whites it seems. I’m not sure what can be done to fix this. On the other hand so many of them are marrying whites (men and women) that they are slowly becoming less and less black every generation. Seems like you say way more lighter black kids than darker. At least I do.
