This is based on who the RC was when they committed to LSU. The 2024 class (next year's freshmen) is the first class that has no one that committed to the previous staff.

OK, but from my perspective a commitment is not very relevant outside of maybe the first year after the guy leaves unless it is binding in some fashion (I don't know the particulars in baseball regarding LOIs and such). So I guess what I am thinking is it is hard to give Cain a lot of credit for these guys who didn't step foot onto LSU's campus until 1 full year after Cain and Mainieri were gone, Jay and his staff's second season.

Gavin Guidry
Jared Jones
Zeb Ruddell
Aiden Moffett
Ethan Frey
DJ Primeaux
Brady Neal

And it is even harder to give Cain any credit for guys who have only been at LSU for the current season, the third for this staff.,

Steven Milam
Jake Brown
Ashton Larson

Also, in my ignorance, I don't know who this is and he does not appear on the roster online.

But thanks for the insight, I appreciate what you offer here regarding the baseball team, I always like getting whatever info I can get.

I understand that. I started tracking the recruiting coordinator at the time of commitment a while back, before we changed head coaches, due to squabbles over which RC built better rosters under Mainieri.

I think it's handy to know who initiated the relationship with the player, but ultimately once they step on campus it's all up to the player and the coaching staff they're under.

ETA: Lape is an in state kid that is currently redshirting off the roster while he heals up from surgery.
