Like any other shithole country not under a US trade embargo. The US embargo impacts only US businesses, not businesses in any other country. That means Cuba can (and does) trade with many other countries so either there's something magical about US goods that no other country in the world can duplicate or the problem is that Cuba's communist government framework is an abject failure. (hint: it's the latter).

Wow...... There's so much wrong here. This premise might hold true if the US dollar wasn't the world's reserve currency and there's this:

30% of the world's wealth is less than 60 miles away from your island and is basically inaccessible. There's no reason we should have an embargo on Cuba. None.

What would we gain if we lifted the embargo?

70% of the world's wealth is completely accessible and a lot of that American wealth is accessible through intermediaries. Does the embargo hamper them? Yes. Does it keep them in abject poverty? No, the failure of their communist system is doing so much of it that any issues from not being able to trade with the US are negligible.

Unless, again, there's something magical about trading with the US which causes a country to become more productive and focused on wealth-building.
