So... it was wrong to recognize suspects from social media?

If they weren't able to be identified at the scene and their identification is conjecture based on their social media posts? Yes, I would say it's the State's responsibility to prove the defendant was there and did what they are being accused of. Prove who it was beyond a reasonable doubt. It's why leftist wear masks.
J6 is a political witch hunt, gulag for a large number of them who did nothing more than be present. They should have never been convicted and should be released and compensated. However, there is a potential difference here because they might not have been wearing masks in photos so they were easily recognizable and didn't require conjecture. Again though, just being at J6 was not a crime and every one of them should be released and compensated for malicious prosecution.
