I had SF up until the last month or so. A roofer came through our neighborhood and a guy 2 houses down gets a new roof through USAA. He inspects mine and says we should have enough damage for a claim (recent hail storm in AP). SF comes out and says damage is less than deductible. Roofer suggested taking a shingle off of the roof and sending it out for testing to see if the same shingles are still manufactured (I guess some sort of loophole). I told him no and have since acquired USAA. SF is a joke.
I made a claim with SF after Ida because my entire fence fell down. The SF adjuster told me they wouldn't give me replacement money for the fence because it was older than 3 years old. I said so I need to replace my fence every 3 years to be fully covered? Insurance sucks.
Also, if you have access to USAA I highly suggest trying to acquire it. I thought at first that you needed to have a living parent/grandparent veteran who had USAA in order to qualify for it. Turns out you only need to call them and establish lineage. Now I have it and all of my children have access to it and so will their children and so on and so forth.
