I missing the part where you a part of this at all. You're leveling criticism where you should be leveling praise. Both parents did what they could to get back on track after the rug was pulled out from under them; their teenage sons pitched in to help temporarily. That's what families do.

Because this poster is acting like potential financial strain is not a legitimate consideration when deciding on or when to have kids. Stating that income isn’t static and you can just get a better job if you need/want more income. All while coming from a household where he had to get a job so his parents and siblings had food to eat.


I’m sure his mom and dad would have loved to have gotten better jobs so that their kids didn’t have to work to literally put food on the table. I wonder if he ever asked them why they didn’t simply get better jobs. Maybe he realized then, which he apparently doesn’t now, that “just get a better job” when you are struggling financially is fairly useless advice.
