Wonder if Luka has a good night, my guess is they make an effort to get him more points.

Dort is in his head so will be interesting to see how he comes out

Hats off to Mavs tonight they played great. And for once it was nice to see Luka not whine all night long. He’s been great and is what Mavs have been missing. Him just playing and not complaining every play.

OKC had the right gameplan but just could not hit their open shots. Scheme was sound but execution failed.

Now OK has to win game 6 to get that home game 7.

The Thunder — who led the NBA in 3PT shooting efficiency in the regular season at 38.9% from deep — have shoot 37/127 (29.1%) from beyond the arc these past four games.

Thats the difference. And allows Mavs to over cover paint. When OKC misses 3’s Mavs can gamble and pack the paint. I think their young age finally caught up.

It takes a lot of inexperience to make a team with Luka and Kyrie look good defensively.

Kyrie’s playing the best defense I’ve ever seen him play, and then the combo of Derrick Jones, PJ Washington, Gafford, Lively, Josh Green are long and active defenders. They played great against the Clips as well.

You clearly haven’t been paying attention to the Mavs recently. Luka has improved his defensive game this year

I believe it. And with that improvement they were still the ~18th best defensive team this year.

Mavs are playing well defensively as a unit.

I do give the thunder a lot of credit for their defense this series, especially on Kyrie. Seeing Kyrie seemingly hesitant to take shots is unusual.

The last two months of the season they were great defensively. Additions of Washington and Gafford were huge.

A healthy Luka and this series would have been over already. Mavs better close it out at home

I think both teams have done well on defense. OkC has shot poor this whole series too. Some are defense by Mavs. But Thunder had so many open shots last night and just didn't make them. If they do then its a ballgame. They were 10-40 on 3’s. When they missed it allowed Mavs to get down court with advantages. It was the difference in game.

OKC had the right gameplan but missing shots hurts in many ways.

It was a great “ref” game. They did not become the main event and let them play. FTs were Mavs13-OKC10 but was really even taking out the late game intentional ones. First game I’ve watched in a long time where Luka actually played ball vice whine. Someone finally got to him.

OKC are young and for whatever reason they are flat missing shots they made all year. They won most games besides Boston, so did some amazing things in reg season. But now they all went cold other than SGA. Thats the difference in the series. That and certain Mavs like PJ shooting way above average on their 3’s.

They are still not out. Good experience for them too. How do they respond Sat? Most times players eventually get back to their averages. Will they in time? And will PJ come back to his? Thats the difference in games.

I have OKC winning tonight

The Mavs have role players have been playing above their heads while the Thunder role players have greatly underperformed

Also, extra day off for Mark to change lineup and work out offense.

30-23 OKC after 1

Gotta bench Giddey and never bring him back in. He’s 21 and too young for the moment. Will be good but not now.

Amazing how much difference making shots is. Last game 10-40 from 3. Tonite 5-12.

Long game and Mavs won’t go away. But you can tell OKC playing with more energy so far.
