Att has a plan you can add for free that will cost $10/day for each day you use your phone in most of Europe. Doesn’t cost anything if you don’t use it but can add up for a long trip with multiple phones.

We rented a Wi-Fi hot spot from Hippocket. It was $85 for 12 days. My wife and I both could use it without incurring international charges. If you go that route, bring an external battery or two as it only lasts about 4 - 6 hours depending on usage. We always charged it on train rides.

Is it each day or each 24 hour period?
I ask because if its like Verizon, it's each 24 hour period (not day) so you can plan what days you do and don't want to use it a little easier I think (at least for me). There are often times I know I am going out in the evening so will want it, then will plan something that next morning but that night I won't need it.

This is what I've done the last few trips. I think it starts the first time you use your phone to make a call/text or browse the internet. If I remember correctly the bill is for a day's use, not a 24 hour period. So if you use your phone in the morning it will count as a day's use.
It's actually not a bad plan, and if you have a second phone on your account, it's only $5 to use the second phone. After 10 straight days, you aren't charged for it. Also, you don't have to do anything to activate, it just starts once you are on Euro towers.

The AT&T plan used to be $10-12/month to use Internationally (granted I haven’t been overseas since the Chyna virus was released). Now it’s $10/day? Even at that, it’s worth it to use your phone just like you were back home.
