Let's review the whole situation. Trump allegedly gets horny and decides to bag a porn star. She then decides to make some money off of it. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. Trump wants the whole thing to go away as it is just before the election.

At this point, Instead of just paying her off by paying the National Inquirer with Trump's personal cash (not a legal violation), it is decided to run it through the Trump company books. That is the legal violation that paves the way for the indictment and now the trial. All because Trump is too cheap to use personal funds.

As a result, Trump, his family and the world now has to endure this trial. Lesson to be learned, if as a high profile person you feel the need to introduce your little friend to a porn star (by definition a person with a low level of morales) for maybe 10 minutes of phsicality at the most, when they come after you for money at least be smart enough to use your own personal cash to pay them off. Definite lack of impulse control.
