Why should we declare war against the cartels? All y'all crying and cheering for military action need to go back to your X-Boxes and get your overload of testosterone lowered a bit.
There's no need to send our military. Simply tell the Mexican government that we are no longer doing business with Mexican companies and the border will be tightly shut down to completely stop travel between the US and Mexico until they straighten out their cartels (or at least make a concerted effort to shut them down). Give them the "Cuba" treatment.
Then... If THAT doesn't work you can consider some sort of military action, but not before providing the Mexican government with an ultimatum and the opportunity to handle their own shite before we handle it for them.
In the meantime, I would imagine that those of y'all who are ready to make military strikes against the cartels would also support mandatory execution of all drug dealers found guilty by trial in a US court whether it be on the federal level, state level, county level, or city level, right? If you're not willing to take that step then you really don't have the moral ground to make the argument to use our military on the cartels.
A lot of y'all are full of bluster with no real thought put behind it.

That is a great concept, but the cartels are more powerful than the government. The Mexican government IS the cartels
