re: Yellowjackets are underrated

My Pops and I were digging fence post holes decades ago. It was through red clay so it was kicking our butts. He would go for a while then we would switch off. It was his turn so he starts going to town and the next thing I know he throws the post hole digger down and starts running. He is hollering something but I couldn’t make it out for a few seconds. Finally I realized he is saying bees. So I took running too. Crazy thing was we where standing right next to each other. They ate him up but I got nothing. It was yellow jackets but in the heat of the moment I guess all he could get out was bees.
