You checked the demographics of Cobb County lately? They are trending in one direction and the demographics of the city of Atlanta proper are trending the other way.
It was a win-win for the city and for the Braves. The city has had a complete redevelopment of the Summerhill neighborhood and even surrounding neighborhoods have been able to piggyback off of it and the Braves got a nice shiny brand new stadium with all the restaurants and retail the city wasn't willing to support or give. Worked out well for both.
