I've been holding that on the inside for a while so I'll vent here
YES! shite drove me...son was having trouble processing dairy at the time so I shelled out for TWO professionally made dairy free cakes...that he barley touched...plus buying session, then photos, not to mention the spectacle that took 2 days to set up in the actual party....
Only thing that kept me from really losing my shite was reminding myself that it was for her...not him

Yes, I do think this is something that is forgotten sometimes. Yes, the child may not remember but that parent will. These are memories they are making raising their child.
