most Catholics are normal human beings. They see IVF as giving life to a couple who can’t conceive naturally. Regardless of what the Bible or Rome says the majority of Catholics don’t care. Now if you go to some retreat thing sure.

This is against God's Will. What we "want," is not necessarily what we should receive. Our passions, and our desires, should not be the sole driver of outcomes, and we should not go against God's will just to get the thing we want.
The ends do not justify the means. That's a very Catholic belief. And unfortunately, that affects things that seem "good," like IVF or surrogacy. Both are driven by disordered desires... Christians in general, are typically misled by desire, by "happiness," by pleasure and earthly needs. That is the struggle of being Christian, and really living it.
BRAVO! Well stated!

Even if Butker could have said it more eloquently, he is right.
100%
Butker said what needed to be said. (Pagans, Atheists and Dims notwithstanding.)
If some "Cafeteria Catholics" or so-called "Christians" and "Conservatives" are so offended by quibbles with Butker, let them take it up with The Almighty. This man is spot on.
Kudos to Harrison Butker for trying to help wake up and mentor the young AND old so that they know how bypass our Vampire-Culture and be better Christians and people.
happier Christians.

Catholics believe in plenty of things nowhere to be found in scripture. I answer to god, not to the papacy

FWIW I got to know some actual Benedictine monks a while back and they would not be down with this speech. They're the most mellow, nonjudgmental people I've ever been around.

Many years ago I was asked by my Catholic boss if IVF was the right thing. Now it makes sense. What an a-hole.
I can judge a Catholic just as fast as they can judge me.
