I think Rubio makes the most sense. No other of the top candidates outperform Trump in their own state. Vance on paper is logical, but Trump won OH by more than Vance did. Unfortunately, very few swing states are controlled by Republicans. Joe Lombardo is the only republican governor in a swing state other than Brian Kemp (who will not consider the VP option).
DeSantis holds out here and is term limited and run for the presidency himself in 2028 with Rubio being his logical oppoinent in the primary to defeat Gavin Newsome.
