I think I had somewhat of a “reverse mid-life crisis”.

I definitely like myself more and I am more at peace with who I am at 42 than I was at 22 or 32.

Just bought some very expensive speakers. Would also love to buy a new boat but will probably hold off on that for now.

Had my first baby 13 days ago at age 36, so I’m definitely in a crisis

I'm almost 59 and haven't hit it yet. Not really worried about any of that shite.

We had our last when I was 34…can’t imagine what it would have felt like if I hadn’t already been a dad for over a decade.

You’ll be alright though, but just in case, prayers sent.

In all seriousness, congrats.

Kids were gone. Bought Jeep and rigged it out for over landing. Our system in truck. Got back into playing my drums and recording heavy metal!

For me it has been the onset of health problems. I spent most of my life never needing a doctor and only went in for the occasional physical or teeth cleaning and always got the thumbs up.

Then things started falling apart. Lots of things. Despite me being thin, exercising at the gym several times a week and eating a healthy balanced diet.

It sucks knowing that it's all downhill, healthwise, and that you've had your LAST day where you pop out of bed feeling great.

Mid career burnout is very real in my experience.

I came close to this last year.

In a much better place now - more direct interaction with my colleagues and a better project with better people really helped.

I also noticed that a couple of friends of mine have recently had pretty serious heart issues. One had a heart attack (40 years old) and another had some kind of myocarditis (sp?) issue (41 years old). Both of them are in better shape than I am. Both of them experience major stress at work like I do.

I am 51 years old and bought a Jeep as my daily driver 2 years ago. I also just applied to Loyola law school. If I do not get in to law school, I am thinking about applying to go on Survivor. I have always had a weight problem but started getting into shape a couple of years ago and have went from 330lbs to 170lbs. I would say I am smack dab in the middle of a mid-life crisis.

I did the same at about that age, quite a few of my frat bros from LSU are lawyers/judges, they talked me off of that ledge pretty quickly

Brother making a lot of money for 3-5 years isn’t life changing. Uncle Sam took 300k or so last year alone

Quarter life crisis was buying a sports car.
Current third life crisis is buying a pricey home gym. My midlife crisis will likely involve buying an airplane.

I hit a 1/3rd life crisis in my late 20s. Just sort of questioning everything about where I was at in life, where I was going, and what to do about it. I was depressed and anxious. Quit my job, moved back to my hometown, and have been happy ever since.

I've come to realize that I'm only happy if I'm learning something new. Guitar, car mechanics, drawing, language, economics, gardening, whatever. I don't have to learn everything to the point of being an expert, but I do need to learn enough to be mildly proficient.

The C8s are legit. Don't feel bad about those.
