Haven’t hit what I’d call a mid life crises, but around 45 I just didnt want to go to work anymore.

Mid career burnout is very real in my experience. I don't hate my job but feel like I'm just going through the motions. I have zero motivation to advance any further in my career but I have 15+ years left to work

I came close to this last year.

In a much better place now - more direct interaction with my colleagues and a better project with better people really helped.

I also noticed that a couple of friends of mine have recently had pretty serious heart issues. One had a heart attack (40 years old) and another had some kind of myocarditis (sp?) issue (41 years old). Both of them are in better shape than I am. Both of them experience major stress at work like I do.
