That’s a brutal stretch. Away at the World Champs, short week against a division rival and an even shorter week against your former coach.
Should we just throw the Kansas City game? Let Spencer Rattler and other backups play while the starters rest up and get ready for the Buccs and Broncos.
1. It’s very unlikely we beat Kansas City, 2. The division game is the most important game, and 3. We have a chance to beat the Buccs and Broncos and not much of a chance against KC. (Better to shoot for a 2-1 or 1-2 stretch than 0-3.)
This is the kind of the out of the box thinking that the Saints coaching staff are unable to execute.
Pulling a stunt like this would invite all kinds of media speculation and Goodell would retaliate in even more diabolical ways.

NFL would shite if the Saints started backups on a national telecast.

A smart coach would start the starters for two series, then put in tha backups. The explanation would be that they are concerned with player safety and are putting players on a 3 game pitch count since the NFL scheduled 3 games in 10 days. This was the most efficient way to implement the pitch count.
