New Orleans International Airport just reported a peak wind gust of 84 mph (11:27 pm) Thursday night.

Checking in from Lockport..

Rained hard for about 5/10 minutes then slacked off. Little bit of wind but nothing crazy.

Yes. ASOS measures the wind at 10 meters or about 32 feet above ground level.

Let's see if the one downstream in Metairie had a reading close to that. It is almost in line with the storm motion.

There's the one just South of the one in Metairie that had 48mph. I imagine the airport one is more in the open.

Looks like the bad stuff is now past me on west causeway approach. Still raining good, but wind is not insane. Time for bed.
