No power in uptown. So much for Entergy's "hardened" grid.

Of course this has to happen at night when the kids are trying to sleep and have school the next day.

I don't know.. But there a shite ton of people that are out of power and Entergy won't touch it until the wind dies down... I looked at the radar and this crap is going to stick around for another couple of hours...

One of the craziest things about this event is that the storm itself traveled from Houston to New Orleans in 5 hours. (between 6:30 PM and 11:30 PM)

That's 317 miles in 5 hours or average of 63.4 mph.

Got pretty sporty for about 15 or 20 minutes in Slidell (east of I-10, close to the lake). Ton of lightning, but minimal rain and wind leading up to the storm. Then, it was raining sideways and the wind really picked up. The worst was over fairly quickly. It's calming down now.

Stupid dog wanted to play fetch with the frisbee. At least she's not afraid of bad weather!

Yeah, I’m in Bucktown too and my lights flickered. My power usually goes out with winds of 25 knots. Calmed down now but it was kickin’ at midnight.

And now it’s in Gulf Shores. Lightening starting to pop off. Looks like the rough stuff is an hour away.
