Just some advice for you, fortunately those days are over for me, however, try to work out custody with your ex. I found most judges follow the 50/50 custody model. Getting a lawyer is fine but be aware most of them are shite and will antagonize the issue to gain more billable hour's.

If it's over money for child support, save your money. It truly doesn't matter. All of the child support calculations are made on a computer these days.

Parents can explore the Child Support Estimator at dcfs.la/csest. The introduction of the estimator highlights the DCFS’s dedication to provide families with helpful resources for making smart and legal decisions.

Now... if it's a custody issue.... Karen Downs or Julie Distefano

Brian Prendergast. I have 50/50 and pay no support thanks to him.

Depends on the issue at hand, might be less expensive to get a parenting coordinator involved (although I don’t particularly like the one we use. Fortunately we don’t need her much anymore).

Brian Prendergast- If it’s an issue that truly needs to go to court. He’s beaten the shite out of my ex’s attorney multiple times.

Dampf, Edwards, Thibaut & Aydell, LLC on Jefferson Hwy. Family law. Wendy handled my divorce. They aren’t cheap, but you get what you pay for.

You need to do your part. Do a little research and find out who does custody cases, then get an appointment with each of them even if it cost you money for the initial interview. Even if you like the first attorney you interview with, continue interviewing all of them so that all the attorneys you interviewed with will be conflicted out and cannot represent the other side. If you hear that one attorney is particularly bad do not interview with that one so that they can represent the other side.
