Ordered a used Mevo Plus from 2nd swing. Currently have a garmin r10, which I find accurate for spin (rct ball), distance and the shot shape is in the ballpark most of the time. I wanted better software and a lot more accurate data. Anyone have the Mevo plus? How do you like it?

How do you know it's accurate? How are you testing? I saw a video comparing a mlm2pro vs r10 against a gc3 and the r10 was pretty bad on shot shape and distance with the rct balls

What I see on it is typically what I see on course. There are shots I’ll hit that I’ll know is wrong on the R10. I have also tested it to my BIL’s about golf simulator. It’s in the ballpark most of the time on shot shape. It helped more when the net was 10’ away vs 8’. Distance is pretty spot on, driver can vary some. But I have used it to gap my bag as well and it translates to the course just fine. There are a lot of reviews that show it’s inaccurate and there’s a lot of reviews that show it’s pretty accurate most of the time.

All that said I would not use it to work on shot shaping. While the shape is usually in the ballpark, but the distance off line will vary. It has helped my game quite a bit being able to practice and see spin and distance. Just ready to get more out of my practice sessions and move to a better unit.

I recently sold one with the pro package. I found it to be near exact what I'd expect out of actual shots on the range when I was hitting into the net. The spin numbers seemed pretty close even without the RCT balls relative to what I'd expect with each club.

The only complaint might have been it isn't going to be as easy and straightforward to setup as something photometric. You need to get it in line with the target, sometimes get the height/roll just right, etc. I'd imagine that goes for all of the radar-based monitors though.

All in all, it's the best value prosumer level monitor out there. The data is within 1% of something like a Trackman/Foresight I'd bet. I'd trust the data the Mevo+ spits out without question once you have it dialed in. I wouldn't say that for the R10 or similar cheaper devices.

I have heard that the setup has to be spot on. I watched a few videos of it compared to track man and it was very close on just about everything. I looked at an original skytrak and a Bushnell launch pro (since it’s now $2k for ball data) but I just didn’t want to pay a yearly subscription just to use the companies own software. And the Mevo plus works with awesome golf which I purchased the lifetime license a last year. My oldest son is 7 and learning how to play and he really enjoys the games on awesome golf. So definitely wanted to be able to continue having access to it. I’m excited to try it out.
