What a waste

American football is not overly popular in Ireland, and going through the expense and effort of bringing a team there to play a game there that could be played here seems unnecessary. If you are going have a desirable matchup involving LSU just play it in the US where you can give greater access to fans. Attending a game overseas is not exactly an affordable trip for most. And to be honest, if I'm traveling to Ireland I probably don't want to spend 4-5 hours attending an event I can, and have, attended here in the US. I'd rather do other things in Ireland.

This is one of those ideas that sounds good in theory, but really isn't that great in reality.

Terrible take. Would be great exposure for the LSU brand. And maybe most importantly, could/should/would really help with recruiting.

Pretty soon, won’t be able to tell a difference between CFB and the NFL.

Play Notre Dame or Michigan over there

I wish I could downvote this twice.

Why would be want a neutral site over a home and home vs programs with stadiums and atmospheres as prestigious has LSU?

If you're going to do a neutral site game, it's better with schools like Miami where they don't have great home atmospheres.

It would not be against either of those teams. ND goes there a lot and usually play Navy. Northwestern went there bc they played against Nebraska ( in conference game). It was actually supposed to be Nebraska vs Illinois the year before and Illinois did not want to lose a home game. They chose not to go.

It would be either a conference matchup game or another big name program.

Kansas State and Iowa State play next year. Those are in conference games. Georgia Tech and FSU play this year.

Shouldn’t we play in France?

Go check the typical weather in Ireland in September. 48-59.

Or, your nuts can be stuck to your leg to watch half of a game vs. northeastern tech state vocational school. Oh yeah, and you can be In Ireland.

Why? It's stupid. It's not like it's an affordable trip for fans to make, and it will likely cost us a home game. What would be the advantage to playing a game in Ireland? We're not fricking Notre Dame.

What??? I go to Ireland almost every single year and I have no idea what you're talking about. You need to turn off conservative talk radio and conservative media and start living in reality again

I agree that it could be great for recruiting. It's not like LSU would fly over the day of the game and fly back as soon as the game is over. The team would likely spend a week in Ireland, and there would undoubtedly be an itinerary that included lots of activities planned by the city of Dublin.

It would be another recruiting pitch. Kinda like pitching the Vegas game against USC. If any LSU fans choose not to go, so be it. Many can't be bothered with even staying for the second half of games in Baton Rouge, so who cares what they think about a game in Ireland?

Mrs. Semjase is from Loughmore in County Tipperary Ireland. (SW of Dublin, way out in the country)

Never been. Would love to make that trip.

LSU owes me a trip from my EIGHT YEARS of GBFTL service and from the GBFTL Ireland trip from a about 10 years ago that I didn't get to go on!

An early season game with our ancestors original in Montreal or Quebec city would be bad arse. Weather would be awesome, they love football too, easy to get there.
