You joke, but I wouldn't put it past the owners to say some shite like that. It's never their fault when their dog attacks someone. Always put the blame on someone else, "my dog never did anything like this".

My old neighbors had two. They would constantly jump my fence and terrorize my family and my dog(that was in a cage). Their excuse was that my dog was barking too much. I wish I were making that up.
