Last week's show was shocking. I didn't have a clue it was coming.

Tonight at 8PM Eastern on CBS is the final show

Not sure, I think I read that Georgie and his wife will be doing a show...

Such a great show...if you were a regular watcher of Big Bang Theory, you shouldn't have been shocked......yes Georgie and Mandy are getting a show. I hope Meemaw is on it! She's so great.

Never watched a minute of Big bang Theory but kids got me into this one. Couldn't believe how high quality the writing and acting was on the show.

It truly stands out among the muck that is network television in 2024.

Watching it now. If you’ve been following this show at all, have a box of tissues handy. Onions everywhere nonstop.

Great show, I liked The Big Bang Theory but Young Sheldon was a better show IMO. I understand the shock if someone didn’t watch Big Bang. The last two episodes were well done and a great send off to Young Sheldon.

They broke into the last 5 minutes with a weather update. Glorious.

I was shocked last week even though I knew it was coming eventually. The episode was almost over and I knew there was a two part finale coming up so I figured it would be later.

Solid finale. The only thing that was not mentioned was the fate of Paige. It would have been nice to see how she turned out.

Same here. GF was watching the series on a whim for background noise, they got to the season that Georgie met Mandy and I got hooked.

I knew that George would pass eventually but I didn’t think they would do it in this show given that they were going to do a spin off. Just feels like they left so much quality tv on the table

I may be on an island on this, but I thought it was lackluster and did a really poor job at wrapping up the various storylines.

No final update on Paige

Missy isn't going to be part of the Georgie & Mandy spinoff

They never address why Sheldon portrayed his dad as a dysfunctional alcoholic loser in BBT, even though we all saw that he was a great dad and a good provider who put his family first

No answer from Sheldon on why he never thanked Dr Sturgis or Professor Proton in his Nobel speech

No indication of why Meemaw went from being so awesome in YS to sucking out loud as a bitter harpy in the one BBT episode

The SAG & WGA strikes definitely fricked up the flow of this final season, but it all definitely felt rushed.

I watched big bang but possibly missed a season or show or two. I recall Shelly speaking all about his life but not the part about him dying.

Tonight had me in tears. I am glad to see they will carry on in the fall with Georgie.

It was really superb acting. Mary doesn't even have a TX accent IRL.

Mary's IRL mother was Roseanne's sister

I hope Missy and MeeMaw are in the new Georgie show. Also: why do they title it FIRST MARRIAGE? Georgia was a baller tire guy in BBT was he divorced?

Supposedly the reason Sheldon knocked 3 times was he walked in on his mom and dad having sex, and thought Mary dressed as the German lady was George his dad, cheating.

So BBT Sheldon's perception was that of a drunk loser dad because of this...and the writers liked saying a middle class man coach from TX was a loser--in their perception--

Maybe Paige and the older Missy will be in the new show with MeeMaw and Mary?

Grey's Anatomy had a young girl/boy tranny traveling to get medical help because she/he felt threatened in TX and wore a bullet proof vest.

They ruin shows with politics and demoralization culture. What an extreme view that a girl maybe 12 is treated like a mature adult.

The show was narrated from Sheldon's perspective as a child. BBT demonstrated his extended adolescence, same perspective as a child.

Viewers have the benefit of objectivity in YS.

This was addressed in the last few scenes when Sheldon said he viewed his dad as "loser" but in reality, since becoming a father, realized he was a man doing the best he could.

It's not perfect but I think that was the retcon intention.

That’s because he’s smarter than everyone and his ego wouldn’t allow him to think otherwise. If he did, he would have to admit fault when it came to his relationship with his father. That’s why him writing his memoirs at the end meant so much.

The show has always been speculated as having been Sheldon writing his memoirs (hence the Jim Parsons VO) and finally confirmed in the last episode.

What I was hoping for was a line or two from Parsons' character explaining to the viewer or to Amy that his regrets that he had about his lack of appreciation for his father made it easier for him to mischaracterize him to his friends that he met later in life. He understood that George was a great dad, and even if he wanted to believe otherwise, his eidetic memory wouldn't let him.
