Still so mad about Game1 vs Bama. Jesus we had it

That play will haunt Milazzo forever if we don’t make it… watching live I thought he should have just eaten it and hoped for extras.

The hitting is measurably worse for Game 3. Musso did a whole episode on his podcast this week highlighting just how bad the bats are in Game 3 of the SEC series.

Hell yeah. We ridin!

Time to forget about a disappointing season and enjoy the ride!

Don’t know about y’all, but making a run in the SEC tournament while shitting on our rivals post-season dreams sounds great to me.

Keeping OP updated since it’s concise standings with RPI of SEC teams we’re competing with for an at-large bid.

With a Bama and Vandy loss tonight LSU could move into a 4 way tie for 8th place and jump vandy in RPI going into the last day of the season. Sucks we were 1 spot behind UF at beginning of day and we stayed put at 32 while Florida jumped all the way to 25 with their win over UGA. Hopefully they lose tomorrow and theyll all but be out of contention with a .500 record anyway

ETA: vandy down 5-2 in the 1st inning against #2 UK

Cocks lost. LSU only 1 game back of 7th place now

Bama and Vandy down big in game 2

If the unthinkable happens and we win a game 3 tomorrow for once, while Bama and Vandy lose (assuming they lose today as well), what is the tiebreaker situation with South Carolina?

I was wondering same thing. Vandy just got run ruled and Auburn had a 6 run inning against Bama.

1 more day of everything going right and we’re going to finish with the 7 or 8 seed depending on who wins tiebreaker between us and Cocks

ETA here you go:
quote:

C. If two teams are not divisional opponents:
(1) Won-lost record of the two teams versus the No. 1 seed using common opponents only (and proceeding through the No. 12 seed, if necessary).
(2) Coin flip by the Commissioner
LINK

We both didn’t play UK, we both presumably would be 0-3 vs UT if USCe gets swept and finishes 13-17, but they went 1-2 against Arky and we went 0-3 so USCe would get the 7 seed and LSU would get the 8 seed if we both finish 13-17 and the rest finish at 12-18

We had it yesterday. We could have finished no worse than a tie with Mizzou and had the tie breaker. Now they can’t catch us

Tigers need to win tomorrow to feel confident about making the NCAA tourney-- in fact they won't make it at all if they lose, and still may be omitted even if they win.

Tigers really, really needed to win that Bama series last weekend. That first game loss stung straight to the olfactory-- it stunk!

well I can’t imagine its good we lose the 2-team tiebreaker to every single team

we lose the H2H tiebreaker against 3 of them and lose the record against best common opponent tiebreaker against USCe.

Don’t get the tiebreak against a 13-17 Cock team, so we need some help tomorrow just to get the 8 seed and by that I mean every 12-17 team losing and LSU winning.

I wish I had bookmarked all the dipshits proclaiming how this team wouldn’t make the SEC tournament.

I think we all knew LSU would make the SEC tournament once they won the Missouri series... it's the Regional I'm worried about.

And I'm still worried. Right now, we're still barely on the bubble. OK overall record, boosted by the OOC schedule which was pretty weak. We need to win today to get to the minimal conference record that would give us a decent chance, and we've lost the head-to-head with Vandy, Bama, and Florida (2 at home), 3 of the teams we're competing with to get in. We have a series win vs A&M, wins against ranked Texas and ULL, and maybe the Nicholls game will help (if they can win the Southland). After that, it's a whole bunch of mediocrity: 0-6 against Arkansas and Tennessee, only 4-2 against the 2 SEC teams that won't make the SEC tourney, home losses OOC against Southern, Xavier and Stony Brook (all bad teams).

There's really not a lot to build our case on, and that's for trying to just get into the postseason.

our case has been built up by everything going right for us this weekend. We blew controlling our own destiny last week when we lost to Bama.

13-17 is historically a long shot to make a regional in the SEC but with how this weekend has gone that record is going to be good enough for us to finish ahead of 3 teams we lost H2H to and are competing for a regional bid against. No sec team has ever gone 12-18 and made a regional (3 teams have made a regional at 12-17, none at 12-18).

If UF, Bama, Vandy all finish 12-18 then that’s 3 teams that could’ve taken a bid from us that we shouldn’t have to worry about anymore if Saturday goes our way with those guys losing and LSU sweeps.

Our SEC standing and top 30 RPI will be good enough for a regional in that case and there’s about 10 at-large teams with an RPI lower than us that are projected to be in a regional per D1baseball as of Wednesday. A lot of those teams lost this weekend too.

Baseball gods are finally giving us some breaks and hopefully that continues on the final day today
