When I first started watching baseball in the 80's bunting was absolutely the play.

In this day of analytics, apparently it is not. And I don't get it. I'm too old-school to understand apparently

I could see it being the play when you only need 1 run to win… most analytics are looking at best scenario to score the most runs they can in that inning

The gist of it is that hitting major league pitching is insanely hard to do, and you only get 3 outs per inning, so why give one away for free?
