Hmm let’s see, what version of events is more likely:

1) #1 golfer in the world decides to dabble in little vehicular assault against a police officer at 5am on the way to the PGA tournament?

Or

2) Fat cop who turned his body cam off is lying.

Tough choice here. Better wait till more evidence comes out before deciding.

Amazing how some of you dirtbags will easily go after the cops and you wonder why young people have no respect for the police!

He broke the law and should face the consequences, period! Just because he's good at golf doesn't make him above the law! He will probably get off, which is wrong, because clearly justice is not the same for all of us.

So the next time your home gets robbed, you get car jacked or someone near you gets murdered, don't call the police, because remember they're the bad guys!

Playing probably the worst I’ve seen him today.

He shot +2 which was his worst round of the year. The first time he has shot over par all season.

Honestly frick these cops for ruining his chance at a Grand Slam. Cops should lose their jobs be charged with crimes.

Fine by me. I'm pretty sick of athletes acting like they are super citizens who don't have to abide by the rules that apply to the rest of us.

Frankly this is on the PGA for not suspending play once this disaster occurred.

Alternatively Scheffler should have asked for permission before pulling this stunt. Regardless, no fricks given.

Just came across my ESPN notifications that Gillis was not wearing his body cam or did not have it turned on which violates LMPD SOP. The hits keep on coming

You sound like a pissed off poor person.. if you cant deal with the fact that being rich and famous absolutely does grease the rails for some people - then you cant deal with life .

Sometimes, it's a good idea to read and research the facts before commenting. You obviously are no aware of what actually took place.

Me too!! Glad that isn’t what happened here.

Good news!!! They did!!

More good news! He did!!

I was gonna just pass by this and let the….at current count…..44 downvotes and replies so far be enough. However, with a take this bad it’s clear you were just shooting your mouth off without knowing any of the facts. So I’m hopeful that maybe, just maybe this will be a lesson to STFU at least until you have all the facts.

Such a dumb response, if there was a law that only plumbers from this one company could do plumbing work, and 75% of plumbers that worked for that company were halfway retarded, I’d still have to call that plumbing company if I needed plumbing work.

The Mayor has now said the officer is being investigated if he followed procedures and about never turning on his body cam.

A witness has come forward saying the officer was running after the vehicle and tripped on the median, he then became enraged and beat Scheffler's vehicle with his mag-light

quote:

When [Scheffler] drove past him, the cop got very angry pursuing the car. … My impression was he was kind of running alongside chasing the car, and maybe he tripped and fell. I mean, there was kind of an outcropping or median, you know, by the front gate. And keep in mind, it was raining. It was 6 o'clock in the morning. It was dark. ... I could see him stumble, but I did not have a very clear view of exactly how you want to categorize his contact with the car,"

This POS cop needs to be kicking rocks, this coukd have potentially ruined someone's life.

Muh felony assault.
