They’ve got him in a jumpsuit and booked on second degree assault of a police officer.

Can’t believe a call hasn’t been made.

If it was raining what was his hurry? And a person in a yellow jacket in an area with a lot of red lights on cars turned on would make me think they were a safety official of some sort. Why not roll down the window and talk to them rather than drive off?

Traffic was backed up due to an accident down the road. It wouldn’t shock me if he thought the cop in the yellow jacket was just a guy directing players to the course.

Scheffler isn't without fault here but this cop sounds like a law enforcement version of the bouncer in Ron White's I got thrown out of a bar skit and I am a guy that gives non-FBI law enforcement a generous benefit of the doubt.

Could you imagine if cops arrested lebron on his way to the nba finals? There’d be riots & protests & law changing

Also at these tournaments every player/person involved in the tournament is driving the exact same car and they are all marked. If they were allowing players to enter, the officer probably should have known that.

It was dark and raining and the officers had their mind on investigating a death. A traffic fatality investigation is very time consuming and requires a lot of measurements, photos and the like. Being a PGA player does not give him special rights. He could have attempted to contact a PGA official or an officer and explain the situation. Once he tried to drive with an officer attached to his car I had zero problem with him being detained. They are out there in the rain and a driver not following the instructions of when to stop and where to drive puts officers at risk. Do I think he needs to be arrested. No, but I have no problem with him being detained,

So it was ok to drive off if it was just a civilian attached to his car?

Do we know for sure he knew somebody was on his car in the rain and dark? That’s an extremely vague statement. He only went 10 yards. That’s like 3 seconds tops at 10 mph. Me may have not even seen the guy for a second or two of that.

This entire thing is weird.

I want to see the bodycams before I pass judgement, If is obvious the officer was telling him to stop then he has an issue.

That's another thing that makes this smell drama queeny. No one attaches themselves to a car. They can grab on to one or jump on to one but they are not attached unless the city of Louisville is training octopusses or squid in the career of law enforcement no one is attaching themselves to anything.
