So if the state said hey if your kids can get into X private school and you qualify for a $7500 per student per year voucher. Would you accept that?

Of course she wouldn't. She a blinded "muh public schools are the only schools" psychopath. She'd rather her kids have a shitty life and education than have her silly little political biases be proven wrong.

We choose to send our kids to public school. Like I said, I attended an area Catholic school and taught at public schools in New Orleans. I know which option offers a superior education and sent my kids to that option. It was intentional, not some accident.

4cubbies,

What exactly is the problem with allowing people to use public funds at private establishments?

Have you never heard of Medicaid, ebt, section 8, EITC?

If you are ok with low income people being allowed to use assistance money at a Walmart, why are you not ok with low income people being allowed to use assistance money at a private school?

Please in detail explain the difference

We know. Your post history tells us this. Your furries are very proud to be who they are at the school you chose to send them to. Meow

This is why I am against it. There is no difference.

Because the public school nazis believe that ALL kids should be in public school. They do not want any private schools to exist. They are married to the government being the sole educator of children. They are irrational thinkers that can offer no sane explanations to support their positions.

No.

Regardless, this will never be a good reason for why I should subsidize your child's education.

Are you seriously trying to tell us that the New Orleans public schools are better than the private schools?

Fair is fair. My kids are going to private school yet I'm paying for other people's kids to go to public school at the same time. That's not right.

If you want to home school or private school your kids that is your business, but the public should not pay for it. Charter schools are public though and should receive more funding.

My favorite NOLA public school story that sums up that shitty school system:

Several years ago during the whole Vagina Hat fiasco, I was at a dinner with some people whose children attended Ben Franklin. These people were proudly telling us how the school has been taking all the students out of classes and protesting many days. I was watching tears well up in one mom's eyes as she relayed this story to me.

Ben Franklin, a magnet school, takes the student body out of the classroom to protest nonsense they know nothing about (but think they do). THIS is what our public schools are doing, and THIS is what 4chubbies supports.

I have a feeling that was actually 4chubbies at that table with me.

In Louisiana, voucher schools have proven to cost more than traditional schools and produce students who score lower on standardized tests.

I don’t think public funds should be used for parents to choose to send their kids to worse schools that cost taxpayers more money than traditional schools.

No one is making you send your kids to private schools, though.

I'd settle for being able to deduct my kids private school tuition from my taxes.
