Yep, that’s what people are going to sue over, being told not to steal…
quote:
(2) The text shall read as follows:
"The Ten Commandments
I AM the LORD thy God.
Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make to thyself any graven images.
Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vain.
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Honor thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
Thou shalt not kill.
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Thou shalt not steal.
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house.
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his cattle, nor anything that is thy neighbor's."
Definitely the stealing part…

Why? Our legislators are the ones passing unconstitutional laws.

Based on what precisely?
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion."
This is in the constitution and while congress isn't making state laws, they get challenged and lose under the separation of church and state concept.
And as a personal aside, I vote republican usually, but it is infuriating when our time and money is spent on shite like this when there are so many needs.

Judging by society the last 50 years it works a heck of a lot better when it does.

Get over it.
You atheists had your chance and you blew it. Our culture has become rotten in the last 30 years. Step aside.

HB8 seems to have been allowed, so I'd be interested in hearing why this would be different.

I’m happy to take all of your currency then because you are so concerned and offended by the acknowledgment of God.

considering that many of the kids in public schools seem to be lacking any sort of parental guidance, I think its a good idea to remind them of the basic virtues
10 Commandments is a pretty good structure. The only issue I would have is that this would dilute separation of church and state. Seems like they could put in place some type of ethical, moral, action code without it being 10 Commandments?

Public schools are for education not indoctrination.
I feel the same way about all the Uber left shite getting taught as well. This is just a different side of the same coin.

The first amendment applies to state actions through the due process clause of the 14th amendment

Start your own private school and you do that then.
my tax dollars aren't for teaching religion in schools. My personal money that i use to send my kid to catholic school is for teaching religion.

It may seem ludicrous to us that Landry harbors ambitions for the White House, but he does.
A coworker - who voted for JL - said she was shocked the first time she actually heard him speak. She said he sounds like a bumpkin! The whole LSU basketball spat really turned her off to voting for him again.

This anecdote is so frustrating for several reasons.
