If you think for one minute that rappers wrote their own lyrics then you are clueless about the rap industry.

The way it works…

Gov tells rapper what they want
Gov gets with writer and tells writer what the song should be about

Writer writes the lyrics

Rapper learns the lyrics

Boom.. song becomes a hit promoting the Govs agenda

The gov loves rap music because they want the young generation to be numb to loving people

Jimi Hendrix didn't write "Hey Joe". It's a cover.

As a named genre, yes. Yet I purposely chose Johnny Cash because he had his foot firmly planted in both the Country & Rockabilly camp.

I am displaying my age, yet I can see some artistic merit in this early example of rap:

The narrator in this song could possibly have been a childhood playmate of the child gunned down in Elvis’ acclaimed song about life in the urban jungle: In The Ghetto.

If you’re going to make blanket statements like this, please provide evidence to back it up. If what you say is true you should have zero problems citing multiple examples

FIVE SONGS YOU DIDN’T KNOW PROMOTE RAPE CULTURE

Some other lovely examples……

LOVE GAME - Eminem
“Snatch the bitch out her car through the window
She screamin', I body slam her on the cement
Until the concrete gave and created a sinkhole
Buried the stink ho in it, then pay to have the street repaved”

SENSEI - Chris Brown
"Let me bend that arse over/Already know that I can read your mind." Reading minds? That's a no! How about ask me what I want? How about active consent?”

SEX YOU BACK TO SLEEP - Chris Brown
"Just let me rock/frick you back to sleep girl/don't say a word no/girl don't you talk."

quote:

THE TERRIFYING NORMALIZATION OF SEXUAL ASSAULT IN HIP-HOP

LINK

Blizzard of Chizz, I can supply more. Do you need more? Or do you just choose to wear blinders? If you’re into blinders I can supply a link where you can order some of these. As you can see they work great on horses.

A good buddy of mine years ago gave me the perfect definition for rap/hip hop culture:

"The celebration of ignorance".

I'm not sure that this board is cultured enough to get Mitski.

When I was in L.A. I had black car service. I got to know the chauffeur. In conversation, I asked him who were his worst clients. Without hesitation he said rappers and recording artists. He said they are socially inept outside of their circle, are self absorbed, and are all about drugs and debauchery.

I find it odd that society allows it.

You probably hate the Bible then too, huh? How you think they saw Yahweh in the smoke-filled Holy or Holies? What do you think they were burning to make the smoke?

Ted Nugent literally has a song about kidnapping and raping a 13 year old girl and then pimping her out to cops to avoid getting arrested but people on this board fricking love him.

It is the single worst culture this country has ever had. They encourage youth serving time in prison. They love gangs.

There isn’t a single redeeming thing about the entire industry. Nothing.

The Diddy video is just the very top most tip of the iceberg.
I can’t disagree with any of this.

Taking someone elses song, adding a different baseline then taking a few words and finding every word that could possibly rhyme with those original words, doesn't seem that artistic.
