So as not to flood the board, please direct all AR-15 related questions, comments, inquiries, pr0n, deals, etc in here.

Building
For potential builders, here is an awesome step by step guide that I refer beginners too. Very well-done. It should be able to answer a lot of questions, and for people who may be on the fence about building, this may help them make up their minds.

LINK

There are lots of youtube videos out there as well. It's easy, given the right tools. Don't be intimidated. If you need any construction assistance, bring your stuff to Bowie's and ask for me.

Recommendations
Good, reasonably-priced ARs - S&W, Stag, Rock River. All can be had in the 700-1100 dollar range, depending on variant.

For higher-end ARs with more premium features, check out Noveske (my favorite), Daniel Defense, Larue, LWRC, Knights Armament, ADM, LMT, and JP. Daniel is probably the best value for what you get.

Magazines
For magazines, always go PMAG or Lancer. I run both and they kick arse. Lots of good bulk deals can be found online.

For good opinions, look for posts from Clames, Propagandalf, Olgoi Khorkoi, IGchris, Bapple, jdavid, lsumakemewanna, tiddlesmcdiddles, kengel. I know im leaving some out, thats just the few that I can think of right now. If you want to be added to OP and are not listed, tell me.

Please try and keep all AR-15 related stuff in here so we can keep the board nice and tidy.

Thanks

I am tired of the AR threads as much as anybody but having it all in on thread is going to make it difficult to find out specefic info once it gets to be lengthy.

This will never work anyway. Nobody looks at stuff like this.

Even if we get a sticky, I'm guessing 14 more AR threads by Thursday.

All this damn ar talk, I guess I'm going to have to build myself one so I can join in on the talk.

I would add Windham and Colt model ARs to the OP, I think both are pretty reputable and would do just fine as someones first AR.

Does anyone know where I can find a complete BCM rifle with a mid-length gas system in stock? I've been searching the web and calling stores for the last week and all I can find are uppers. I already have a Daniel Defense M4V5 but am looking to add another AR ASAP. Ideally I would love to find a Mid 16Mod0 because I have a 13" Troy Alpha Battle Rail just sitting at the house, and I'd like to avoid paying for a rail I won't use. Then again, with supply such as it is I'd be fine with just removing the rail and selling it. Thanks in advance.

After watching the news last night, I feel the need to buy some parts to keep on the side before the gubment decides to do another AWB, anybody know anyone that has any stripped forged lowers in stock?

Going to get an AR 15 and 10 lowers to have on standby, and some mags. What other shite will they ban as far as parts? I have a feeling the gun show this weekend is going to be crazy

Finally pulled the Trigger (pun intended) and bought an AR yesterday. Was planning on buying one in the next few months anyway just had to bump it up a few months. And the LGS where I purchased my AR said they sold 16 yesterday.

If you were wondering I got a S&W M&P15.
