Even if you pay a lot for a driver to tow, say $2-$3 a mile it is still WAAAY less than buying anything.

So you spend $500 a summer moving the boat. I think that's a much better deal if you don't want to buy something new.

what I'm looking to do is sell my 2008 f 250 and try to get into something around the same cost of what I'm selling my truck for.

definitely not buying anting new. A wise man once told me to never buy a new vehicle and a new 4wheeler.

Well what fun is that?

Deep down inside, we're all looking for an excuse to buy a new truck.

You don't need to tell me that's no fun, I bought a new truck to tow my boat and trailer. I made 4 long trips with the new truck. The wife still reminds me abt it... Well, until I bought her a new car too.

My kayak fits on top of my Tahoe nicely, never had any issues with towing.

Suburban will do fine. I'd hook whatever you buy up to the boat before you buy it. The wheelbase on my Tahoe and Land Cruiser was too close to pull my larger boat (probably b/c it wasn't balanced on the trailer well). Suburban always did fine.

Allot depends on the tongue weight. While the SUV may be capable of towing down the road you may need a weight distributing hitch so it doesn't slam the suv on its arse. I also second the 4x4 option for when launching at the ramp. Also keep in mind that without that bed length your rear tires may be awful close to the slick stuff at a boat launch with an SUV depending on how long the trailer.

When my dad had a yukon, he would tow our 32' Gravois with it. I think your fine getting a yukon or tahoe

Watched an old 2 wheel drive Expedition drag a 33' Procraft all around Louisiana for years and never needed either of the motors to help pull it up the slip.
im talking about a SUV the size of an explorer, not a Tahoe, suburban, or Expedition.
