because smartthings never crashes duh. just go get a different kind of switch for your wall instead of lutron. its a wall switch. they all work. its not deciding between an xbox and a playstation.

just pointing out having to BUY A LUTRON HUB plus integrate with their cloud is a more expensive/less elegant solution for one of the most robust HA vendors out there.

I disagree. Nothing wrong with buying a Lutron Smart Bridge especially if it's the PRO. It opens up the door to many current and future possibilities. Using the Smart Bridge is how Lutron has been integrating with home automation for years. In fact it's how it works with C4.

all switches could avoid the neutral wire dependency if they spent a little more money making them.

they have access to power already, its just that most break the circuit when turned off so they run crying to the neutral to keep the doodad awake.

I've always wondered about that but that makes a ton of sense.

Have any of you guys ever heard of land scaping lights the change colors and can connect to wink or etc? I want up lights that turn purple and gold on gameday.

It's a weird hobby

YGM
;)

Sent you my Google doc with most everything listed. It might be a little outdated.

Yes I'm OCD as hell.

Eta second worksheet has my schedules listed. Going to do the same for robots in case the day comes when this all crashes or I switch hub brands.

Asked for a picture, not your life history

See you have a Kidde. Are they pretty reliable? Think I will buy a couple packs at HD for $80. It's the one piece I've been meaning to get.

I've seen those but unless I'm wrong they only do one color at a time. I'm also looking for uplights that shine on a tree, plant, etc.

I read last night that wink doesn't do the coding work for support until a brand pays them to do it... That's why you don't have Sonos for example. Is that true? If so I might reconsider this thing which sucks because I threw the box away.

Correct on the lightify, only 1 color per string. Don't know of any out of the box solution for that.

It is true that Wink works by partnerships. They have to get paid to support a product.

It is one color at a time you need to get 2 strings

Bed Bath & Beyond is still selling iHome Smart Plugs for $19.99. If you can scrounge up some coupons, you can get those for a bit cheaper. I got 2 earlier for $32 total.

I'm slowly building my smart home off of discounted stock. Thanks mctiger for the home depot insight BTW

Anyone know why there are no zwave plus in-wall outlets on the market?

It looks like GE sold one at one time (ge 14286), and then discontinued it...

So i really want a doorbell cam but we all know the cons of the ring pro? is there anything on the horizon that we can record footage ourselves? or is the Ring pro the best on the market for a while?

should i wait for my hub firmware update and cross my fingers or do i need to kill the breakers & reset them?

you've done this right? do you remember the process?

The Ring pro is great the problem is with the homes wifi network 99% of the time. If swapped out plenty Pro (1080p) for the regular model (720p) because of this issue.

Skybell is coming out with a new Trim Plus model that they announced at CEDIA last year but I still haven't seen them. But it is also a 1080p model so I'm sure it will have similar issues. I've had nothing but complaints with the last two skybell models.

I've heard great things about DoorBird but I have no experience with them.
