There are far too many threads asking for advice without giving enough information. I think we should have a thread giving some basic guidelines for posting.

1) When asking about a Waiver Wire / Free Agency aquisition or a potential trade, give the following information:
a. Scoring style
b. League size
c. Entire roster (if a trade, preferably both teams, but at least yours)
d. W/L record
e. If a trade, give the trade as "Give ___, Receive ___". When you put it as "trade ____ for ____" we have no idea which side you're on.

2) When asking Sit/Start advice, give the following information
a. Scoring style
b. Matchups
c. W/L record

3) Be careful using abbreviations for players. Ex: If you say M Jones, is that Marvin or Matt?

4) Thread titles should be specific. State the basic nature of the topic/question
a. Trade, sit/start, etc.
b. Players involved
c. DO NOT just say “Advice needed”

DO choose a subject line that accurately describes the content of your post. Do not use deceptive subjects to attract attention to your post. Do not use one or two-word subjects that provide no description. And do not post in ALL CAPS.

5) Post with the understanding that none of us are "fantasy experts", but rather just hobbyists that enjoy fantasy games. We are giving opinions, not advice. If we recommend something that doesn't pan out in your favor, it is in very poor taste to come back and complain about it.

Anything I missed? Calling fantasy regulars like Gyno, Lester, DeathValley85, BilJ, Peazy, Boom, castorinho, VermillionTiger, GToTheMoney, etc.

A Note On Trading:

By GynoSandberg

Some of these trade advice threads are just ridiculous. On top of providing no info on your league size, scoring, roster etc..,,

Per JJ Zacharison on twitter the other day

I love my job and I love interacting with you guys about fantasy football. It's great. But there's one thing that does annoy me each year...

And it has to do with trading. When you trade -- for the love of God -- look at what a trade partner needs, and give them those needs.

If you're trying to sell, I don't know, Amari Cooper -- don't trade Amari Cooper to the team who has AB, Mike Evans, and Brandin Cooks.

So when you say "Which players should I target in a trade?"...stop targeting players. Target teams. Make their team better with your player.

"Who should I look to get for my Carson Wentz?" I don't know, man. Go find the team starting Joe Flacco.

And just because a player is a buy candidate doesn't mean you shouldn't buy players who are simply performing at expectation, too.

The pool of players you'd trade for should be massive. It shouldn't be limited. When it's limited, you won't get a trade done.

When trading, don't look to make a deal just to 'win' it. Make deal that makes sense for both teams and don't give a shite about bragging rights. People will be less likely to deal with your scrub arse in the future when you beat your chest about trade raping someone right after the deal.

Reddit does it right. Make a flare that's easily identifiable.

Fricking this. There can be 5 posts saying TAKE THAT SHITE NOW before we all realize some fool is trying to give up his best players for nothing.

I just wish people were more descriptive in their subjects.

I'm not clicking on a thread that has the subject "trade advice" or "pick 2" or "need help deciding"

At the very least, put the players in question in the subject. You're bound to get more responses.

When I'm looking at this board, when a subject has a player that I want info on in the subject, I'm clicking that thread and at least seeing what people have to say and possibly offering my opinion on the player if I think it's helpful.

This is good and all, but no one is actually going to listen. It's like the "rate my team" threads. Everyone just does what they want to do.

Need advice who to start/sit:
Standard scoring, we are both 4-3.
Kelvin Benjamin vs Card
or
Davante Adams vs Falcons (with Cobb inactive)

Should we have a community trade thread? I was going to start one to discuss the Duke Johnson to Houston trade but don't want to clutter up the board.
