on HBO Go. Absolutley incredible series, maybe the best TV comedy ever. The show has been off the air for 20 years, but nothing about it feels dated. Brilliant writing, great cast, and Garry Shandling was a comedy genius.
I think tonight I'm going to to start all over again with season 1.

Hank: [beats up a promotional cut-out of himself] What are you laughing at? Huh? You bald piece of shite! You fat little whore! Stop it! Stop it!

Series finale is still one of televisions best. Saw more of the actual "show" than ever before then the final 5 minutes, with just Larry and Artie watching Hank cuss them then come back crying, was such a great scene.
The final shot is also all Shandling, not Larry, looking at the set one last, all by himself, and almost loses it.
The emotion in that shot was 100% genuine and it clearly showed through.
It can easily be argued that HBO, in a single decade, provided the two seminal, and most influential shows of the modern television "golden age."
Larry Sanders on the comedy side and Sopranos on the drama side... It shaped how premium networks fill their lineup and knocked down the walls on the quality and what can be produced and expected from television shows.

Wasn't there a joke on the show about Hank chipping his tooth on a urinal?

I need to check this out. I know nothing of Gary Shandling, but I just watched the Zen Diaries, and I'm definitely intrigued.

Yeah, and he didn't understand why everyone thought it was so funny. Larry explained, "It was a back tooth, Hank. Don't know how you did it."

If you haven’t already, watch “The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling” if able. Great tribute to him from Judd Apatow.

It's in my top 5. Did a re watch a few years ago and thought it had aged extremely well.
