Ascension peeps...need update on school.

What is the latest on the primary school they are supposed to build on HWY 73? Someone recently told me it's going to be a Charter school? When are they supposed to start construction?
They have had a sign up and the land cleared for some time now. Just thought it was strange they haven't started building with all of these neighborhoods coming up on 73 and all.

Contact a school board representative. I emailed mine to find out about when the Prairieville High school will be built and he got back to me pretty quick.

What did he say? I heard from a former board member they really don't want to build until AP will have 4 5A schools on the East bank

Care to share the info on that as well?... We are going to move next year, but we plan on staying in Prairieville. Was wondering about that too.

The response was:
"We do not have a tentative date for the construction of a new high school,
We would first have to look at funding which would be about a $80 million project.
To get this funding we would have to consider a bond extension or an increase millage tax.
We probably will look at bringing one of these options to the public next year."

no, north of 73 and 1-10 is the new primary school. i believe they have broke ground on the new middle school off of bluff and the school board owns the land for the new prairieville high school. I don't know if they had plans to build anything towards conway. i think it was on the 2016 november ballot that the parish renewed a mill that was going to generate 150 million plus, so im not sure why they told someone above they needed additional funding. i think they figured they had enough money for improvements for all schools plus the new ones they wanted to build....so say...
