Probably because the names they were asking are real people who are still high up in Mexican politics.

That’s what I assumed but I wasn’t sure.

Why did they bleep out the names of the Mexican officials when they were interrogating Kiki about what he knew about the cartel. I didn’t understand that.

I’ve read a couple different theories on it. Most say just dramatic effect but I think it’s because the real tapes had those names bleeped out

If you remember when the thin man had a shotgun to his back, he told the commander that he could take the tapes with the names of every political figure involved and take everything down but would basically be killing himself, the other option was to take the tapes that didn’t have names that would protect his bosses and allow him to leave with the cash and allow Félix to live as well.

Maybe I misread that scene so don’t hold me to that but I think that’s what they were going for

I was suprised there was no arrest bc I know how his story ends, but clearly they are going to make next year about taking down the entire cartel as a result of Kiki’s work this year so they need him as a villain next year

What was the deal when Miguel and the pilot went to Nicaragua. Why did the American army guy let the rebels beat the shite out of them just for fun. Also is that same crazy American from the narcos Colombia?

Spoilers

Yes it’s the same guy and he’s CIA. The CIA was supporting the Contra rebels in Nicaragua.

It was set up by Nava to try to show Félix that he controls him.

He was connected to the DFS, who Miguel was defying at the time or not fully cooperating

When miguel needed a favor from the DFS, they required him to go on the trip to Nicaragua, in which they beat the shite out of him, basically to send a message to him that its the DFS that runs shite and not him.

He later got his revenge by Gosling-ing his face into the ground

The first leader of the DFS was a real a-hole, so glad to see him get his

Yes.

Narcos is in my mind the most consistently excellent show on Netflix year after year. It never slacks up and the writing is always on point.

Following the real historical timeline precluded any arrest then.

Although they didn't follow the historical timeline at all with respect to Rafa's ending.

I've known the details about the Kiki tragedy for a while, was weird seeing it all play out on a tv show like this.

It does add an interesting layer to the watching experience knowing he's doomed the whole time and how his brave decisions play into it. It's a different from Pablo because we're dealing with an American hero. Felt strange but it made this season unique for me in a way that--I don't want to say "enjoyed"--but made it a different kind of ride that was just so compelling.

That was accurate; Miguel doesn’t get arrested yet. It takes a couple more years after his first run in with the law in which he was able to bribe himself out and get even more government support.

Oh, they're going to make it there. Have no fear. It's too good a story to pass up.

Probably not heavily. We are still at least 4 years away from Miguel’s arrest and about 8 years away from him giving up his godfather role. If Netflix continues with the timeline they have established

Amado had an estimated net worth of $25B which would be second only to Pablo Escobar’s estimated net worth.
