It's not a machine. It's a cartridge that you place a drop of blood on. Results show in less than 10 minutes. We're doing 50 tests/day at the clinic I work at here in Baton Rouge. The thing to know is that these aren't FDA approved and they do not determine immunity. However, they can determine whether or not you've been infected and whether or not the infection is acute or in the recovery phase. BTW, we're only charging $50/test.

What is your positive rate? Rough estimate

I am not paying $100 for a test that likely has an unknown statistic regarding false positive/negative test percentages yet

Don’t bother if it’s the Abbot test. It’s 50-50 whether it will be positive in someone with antibodies.

Baton Rouge General is using the COR2G serology test developed by Mayo Clinic. This is one of the most robustly validated tests through Mayo Clinic labs and yields a 98.6% specificity (ability of the test to correctly identify those with antibodies).

Depends on who we're testing. We're doing known exposures/PUI's and randoms. I haven't looked at the stats of every person tested, but one day this week we tested 81 patients. 8 were in recovery. 3 had acute infections. 70 had no antibodies. So based on that particular day, it's 13-14%, but I don't know the breakdown between known exposures and randoms that are just curious about antibodies. 81 people is an extremely small sample size. I wouldn't base anything on that number.

I went and got tested yesterday. Waiting on results.

I had an appointment and was in and out in 15 minutes. Super smooth.

The walk-in line was long. Would not recommend that.

You must have gotten the nasal swab test if they haven't given you results yet, right? Antibody testing gives rapid results.

You’re paying for useless information.

Reliability is seriously in question and even if it did detect actual covid-19, you still don’t know for certain your immune from future exposure.

Not all of the tests. The mayo test needs to be shipped off to Mayo...they actually draw blood. Results in 48 hours.

I think you have sensitivity and specificity confused.
