I think you're spot on with this. At the end of the day, we'll probably have to accept that the gameplay isn't going to vary that much from Madden. If they thought they could improve one, they would do it for the other as well.
I'm more interested in how the in-game feature and game modes will operate. How are they going to handle the transfer portal and NIL? Since they can now have actual players & teams, how often will they update stats for individual players & teams during the season? Weekly or monthly? For example, it would be very disappointing if you were watching a player turn into a Heisman Trophy candidate in real time, but that wasn't reflected in the game. Those are the things that I will really care about.

I don’t know. I would prefer the ability to either turn off the attribute update or only have it take affect when you start a new season. I would get pretty annoyed if I spent a ton of practice time developing a player only for him to keep getting nerfed because he’s underperforming IRL.
