Worried about that dude.

Last I read from him they were going to get some sleep. Didn't sound super desperate at that point. Hoping he checks in today.

I would like to hear your rationale for this.

If the person that owns these items wishes to give them away voluntarily, fine.

If a local government wants to commandeer these items and compensate the owner, fine.

Destruction of property and theft are NEVER okay.

Damn, if that's Galliano, then I hate to see Grand Isle.

That’s not Galliano. That’s Golden Meadow. You can see where 3235 merges back with LA 1.

We're in Abbeville, farm is in Kaplan. We had a little wind but nothing crazy at all. 60 acres aren't ready to cut and will likely be somewhat down but everything else is in. No electricity loss to the bins so we should be great. Husband told me that our insurance now covers "something something something" so I asked if that meant I didn't have to worry at all to which he replied YES.

Maybe he's lying to keep me chill but don't think so.

Thanks for asking .. hope y'all are good as well.

Does anyone have any insight as to road closures between Shreveport and Baton Rouge. Flying in from Denver. Shreveport is the closest we can get to MSY. We were just planning on driving to BR and staying with family until we can get into Metairie.

The answer will lead to what is really wrong with NOLA and sadly the words "personal responsibility" will be nowhere in the answer.

Worried about that dude.

Any update? He’s a good dude.

Not sure if this helps, but he posted last night that he was thankful for all of the prayers and kind words posted for him. It sounds like he lost a lot in this storm, but at least he was able to post about it.

Again not sure if this helps, but hopefully it does.

I’m referring to areas with severe damage where you could walk into a damaged store or gas station and grab some food. All that shite will be thrown out and replaced by insurance anyways

Not breaking and entering into someone’s house or in areas with little damage

I know it’s a long shot, but does anyone have any information on Sorrento? Evacuated and haven’t been able to contact anyone local.

My fire department buddies there said it’s “decent”. Few moderate damages to houses and businesses, Power lines and trees everywhere, the National Guard is there. Whole town was blocked off earlier, not sure this minute.

Without getting political, people like to argue about the haves and have nots. There is nothing that precludes you with a meager amount of self determination, in the United States of America, that you can't have some measure of "have".

People who fail to provide for themselves in the US would likely also fail to provide for themselves in any other period of history or every other country in the world.

They're just failures and you know what? We have to be OK with letting people live their lives by their choices. No more helping hands to these types.

Please let me know if you need me to check on anyone. Last night was very rough in Kenner. There is pretty extensive damage every where.

Also, I am sure you are all already aware but for anyone worrying about loved ones not answering their calls only Verizon is working consistently.
