Good because it is cancelled, just not publicly yet. There will be ZERO flights leaving MSY at all this week. NONE

You’ve got airline sauces!?

Parents are calling southwest right now to switch flights out of Houston for tomorrow or Thursday. Hopefully they get a rep like I got this morning that was amazing.

Every southwest flight out of Houston to Lax, on Thursday is cheaper than my flight out of New Orleans. Gave me a refund when I switched.

I went ahead and moved flights today to GPT. Just took the travel credit on the original flights. Not worth the wait for me.

Glad you moved the flights, not worth the hassle waiting for the original cancellation.

I'll be free to help rebook people tonight starting around 8pm CT

My flight back was cancelled. Had some terrible rep trying to rebook us. Have to call United back tonight to try to sort it out.

Can you try online now that it's officially cancelled?

I’ve tried that but it’s not giving us Jackson ms as an option to fly into. It’s only giving us the closet airports around New Orleans

Maybe I’m just a cynical piece of shite, but I knew Orleans parish and Jefferson parish would not have the airport operational at all this week, so on Sunday I changed all my flights to go out of and back to Houston. My parents finally switched their flights to go out of and back to Houston.

I truly hope all the Tiger fans are safe and can get their plans changed to make to the game with us…

You're going to need to call unfortunately if it won't let you do it online

I still have no information on when the rental car places will be open. I’ll update as I find out.

Thanks for the update . I wish I was better informed with rental cars as I am about flights but that is not the case. Hope things work out and soon

Hi Cuse,

Just hopping in here...our SWA flights to MDW Sept. 3-5 were cancelled today. Is that a refund or likely a miles to be used within one year?

Appreciate all the help you've given to us travel board folks

Sorry your flights cancelled

Request a refund if you paid for these flights. If you used e-credits, they go back to your travel funds using the 6 digit confirmation code. Expiration date is likely next year some time, the travel funds should show up when you log into your southwest account.

Happy to help

American Airlines lists conditions for fee waiver, don't change origin or destination city. so how do you get around this, if you need to change out of MSY to LAF

When I called AMEX, they said the AA waiver allowed me to change to an airport within 300 miles of my original airport (MSY). So LAF should be allowed as an even exchange

I switched my September 10 MSY to Costa Rica to BTR to Costa Rica and will catch the same connecting flight from Houston, but I’m doing it today . I’m on the tarmac in Houston now waiting to depart and I’ll skip this post hurricane misery, thank you.

Booked a flight back from Dallas to Nola and back Saturday so I can try and go grab the cats and dump the fridges. Not sure if they will be flying but figured I'd be ready in case.
