That isn't the shitty one at Oak Knoll or out in Slidell? I'm loving everything about moving up here, but the public golf options are certainly lacking.

There isn’t a public one in Covington/Mandeville/Madisonville

Used to be one in Hammond. Don't know if it is still there.

Only thing i know in the NS is simulated golf places.

If you're willing to go to Oak Knoll, go a bit farther down the road to Carter Plantation. They have nice practice facilities.

Seems like a good business opportunity…

Yeah, boggles my mind there isn’t one. I guess just have to find a reasonably priced piece of land

I’ve seen many a driving ranges in my life and none of the owners appeared to be doing that great

Outside of the new mega ventures like top golf they all seem to be losing/low money making ventures

If you are looking for a decent practice facility then Carter is your closest option, then Oak Harbor which is definitely a step below Carter's facilities. If you are just looking for a range to hit balls at then Royal, Oak Knoll and the old Abita Country Club are the closest options

Add Pinewood to that list just for range balls.

At one point I looked for land off I-12 for a "top golf lite" place that was basically a range with a bar, TV's, bring in food trucks on the weekends, etc.

Couldn't find anything even close to reasonable so bagged the idea. I am not much of a risk taker but there is definitely a market IMO.

Ditto. If you live in Mandeville or Covington and have to drive to Carter to practice at a non goat ranch it sounds like a pretty good business opportunity.

Seems like something similar to GolfSuites in BR would do really well, but you’re probably right about the challenge to find the right piece of land/location

It is the only thing that is open. There is a little shed with a ball dispenser with card swipe and all that. No workers there

Yes. It is self service. The machine dispenses small, medium and large buckets. $5, $8, and $11 If I remember correctly.

It’s amazing how shitty public golf is in Mandeville considering the average income of the person that lives there.

If the rumors are true that Danny Sinclair has finally agreed to buy CCC, things may improve but it's years away. Most of the people of affluent income in the Mandeville area play private; TCC, Money Hill or Beau Chene with a few who belong to more than one.

the average income being higher hurts public golf not helps it.
