I have heard Torrys North Course is great and fun while the famous South is just brutal and actually a little boring

If you are looking for a low cost option that is still fun and has some nice views, Coronado is not a bad public option.

The first two replies are it. I was out there last March and got to play Torrey South and Maderas. Absolutely great golf.

For Torrey, the non-resident tee times open up 90 days in advance and fill up quickly. I had to log in at 4am exactly 90 days in advance to get in. If you miss the 90 day mark, keep checking your day as people cancel all the time. If you ultimately don’t get one, call the pro shop a couple days before, the day before, and the day of to see if you can pair with someone.

It looks tight from the road.

I’ve played the course at North Island NAS.
Playing while Naval jets takeoff and land is kind of fun.

If your going to Torrey pines find someone local to hookup with and it will cost you 40 bucks.

This is correct. The back 9 of the north is incredible along the coast. Also if you stay at the Hilton there you are guaranteed a tee time. Really nice to walk around in the evening along the course and restaurant over looking everything.
