Updated 10:30 CT.

Rumor is that Oklahoma made a substantial offer and that LSU is out.

NIL = nothing but pay to play bribes.
Almost nobody has even heard of these players which means they have ZERO name, image and likeness value.

And yet here we are discussing them along with several other universities.

If it’s gonna get treated like this, like the nfl, then they should allow colleges to cut players who aren’t performing up to expectations

Being processed is essentially the same thing as being cut but you get my point

Colleges should never have to worry about an 85 limit, cuts should be open to be made during season and after or before, just like pros

That is a rule that the colleges have agreed to.

They can. There is no "employment" contract between the player and the team. The only "contract" is the 1 year scholarship agreement to attend the school. The NIL contracts are not through the school.

A coach can kick a player off the team ("cut him") during the season without any real recourse from the player.

While NIL contracts are, in essence, "pay for play" contracts, they aren't employment contracts. Everything you are saying should be allowed IS allowed. A coach can dismiss a player from the team at any time.

Don't worry, I got crucified by your loyal subjects in the anchored Damonic thread lower on the page for "having something against you". I guess when I don't post on here as often as I used to, I lose standing on here

Job - so get rid of this amateur fraud and start a G league for football. Send all the baseball players to the minor league.

That is where we are. The players are now compensated other than a scholarship and the amenities of being in a college program.

Not saying I like it, but it is the world we live in.

In the end it is all our faults because of our obsession with college sports. If no one watched it, went to games or bought merchandise this would all be a non issue.

Gerry Hamilton, nothing conclusive here but we're the one school mentioned by each source, that has to be a positive.

If NIL isn’t the main factor, I don’t see how we don’t pull him.

Texas has literally nothing to point at to show him they’ll make him a better DT.

All of their recent success at the position is due specifically to the gentleman we took from them.

Game. Set. Match.

Fingers crossed the table side créme brûlée and Calling Baton Rouge candle show sealed the deal last night.

“Texas insiders say…” = auto discount on the comment. Per usual, they’re either the team to beat or in the top 2-3 for everyone. At least it’s Gerry saying it this time and not that goon Nahlin.
